The owners, management & staff of the Wyatt Hotel are delighted to announce that the newly built Cobbler’s Bar will reopen on June 27th 2019 at 12noon. The bar has been beautifully restored and features many of the much-loved old features and some interesting new elements! The pubs theme will continue to showcase the buildings roots as a previous Cobblers establishment with lots of memorabilia from times past throughout.
Construction started on January 14th as part of a €4 million hotel development to extend and utilise all available space at the popular bar which has been in operation since 2008. The new building features extended ground floor square footage and also accommodates 7 new hotel bedrooms overhead, in a space which was previously derelict. The development is part of a wider extension project to the hotel which will deliver an additional 28 bedrooms in total. The extension at the rear of the hotel is well underway and will be completed by the end of 2019.
The new bar features dining seating for up to 90 people inside with additional dining space offered on the street tables and also in the courtyard area. A fabulous new dedicated Cobbler’s kitchen has been built for the extensive menu and diners can expect to see the chef & team cooking away in the new open kitchen.
Cobbler’s will serve their new Grub Barfood menu which will be served from 12noon to 9pm, daily. The new menu, presented by head chef Eoin Mc Donnell, offers everything one would expect from any of the top urban gastro pubs. All-time favourites such as fish & chips, steaks, burgers will be popular and the addition of new vegan options will appeal to many. Daytime extras will run between 12pm to 5pm for a lighter bite during lunchtime.
Live music has long been associated with Cobbler’s Bar, the famous Sunday Night Session with Dan Delaney, Johnny Fadden, Laoise Ni Chionnaith & friends will be back and it promises to be better than ever. The Thursday Trad crew will resume weekly and for the summer months Cobbler’s will host a Monday night session with Olcan Masterson & David Ellis. Saturday nights will feature live local talent from acts like Frank & Eamon, Stick with Strings, Dean Kinsella and many more!
For sporting fans live sports action will be well catered for with the addition of new tv screens and all major sporting fixtures will be shown.
Cobbler’s Bar will continue to host frequent celebrations of Wedding After Parties, Anniversaries, Birthdays, Engagements, Christenings, Team Events and much more. The new bar will accommodate groups of up to 150 people.
The Wyatt Hotel are reporting a great start to the year with a very promising summer season ahead. Visitor numbers at the hotel are at a record high year to date which gives a very positive message for the rest of the year. The hotel itself goes from strength to strength with expanding staff numbers to accommodate the many daily visitors. New food offerings at the bustling JW’s Brasserie are due to launch in the next few weeks offering a more refined menu with a specific focus on fish and fine ingredients. The team constantly work on new offerings to ensure they remain relevant in a competitive market and to keep attracting their regular guests & new customers with something new and innovative.
The finished version of Cobbler’s Bar is a credit to the design team, Cox-Power & Associates and the building contractors PPG Construction who not only delivered a brilliant end product but also operated the complete knocking and rebuild process without disruption in a prime site in town.
